My Approach

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I work with adults who have a strong desire and willingness to heal and discover what is holding them back. I embrace an integrative approach to healing leaning into therapeutic modalities of Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Ego States therapy informed by Polyvagal theory and Somatic techniques to create connection and balance of body and mind. The core to my approach is relational and humanistic, all our parts deserve to be embraced with compassion and curiosity.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is evidenced-based psychotherapy method proven to help you heal from trauma and adverse life experiences. EMDR is effective in healing PTSD, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. EMDR is a therapy of past, present and future. Past events do not have to continue to shape the experience of the present or the future. EMDR is a memory-focused psychotherapy that supports processing traumatic experiences/memories. Unprocessed traumatic memories affect how we perceive things, decisions we make, reactions we have, and the beliefs we hold about ourselves and others. They can directly lead to symptoms that cause on-going distress. EMDR is an 8 Phase protocol that begins with creating connection in the therapeutic relationship. We are hard wired as humans to connect. Connection is vital to show up as we are.

Flash Technique

Flash Technique (FT) is an evidenced based intervention to support the reduction of distressing memories. FT is an adjunct intervention used in EMDR to support healing.
